As the clock struck 2:00 p.m.and the decision drew closer to being revealed, you couldn't help but feel nervous that Votto would get snubbed for the award just as he had for the NL All-Star team. For weeks Votto had been considered the front-runner, but baseball experts wouldn't be surprised if Albert Pujols took home his third-straight MVP trophy.
One length isn't very much in horse racing although as little as a nose can keep a horse out of the history books. Mike Smith is a great jockey and so is Calvin Borel, but at this point in their careers, I'd have to give the edge to Calvin. When I heard that he chose to ride Rachel Alexandra, I was disappointed. He had a chance to put Mine That Bird in the history books. He may well win his own WWE this year, though I doubt he'll do it on the filly who was tiring badly at the end of a shorter less grueling race. On the other hand, I think he could have won the Preakness on Mine That Bird and then he would be within one race of the wwe crowns.
The tag-team titles are relevant in the eyes of wrestling fans again because of Chris Jericho. At first, the tag-team of Edge and Jericho had people really excited. 2 main event guys teaming up to cause havoc and fill their egos. But, Edge went down with a torn Achilles tendon and Jericho was left holding both belts. So, WWE needed to find a partner for Jericho. A huge mystery was created to generate a buzz. Fans were excited and hoping for a surprise. Instead, they got the Big Show.
Would have been a nice match if WWE didn't go to a commercial for 5 minutes during the tag-team title match. Santino hits "the cobra" on Husky Harris and gets the pin. Immediately after the bell, Randy Orton comes out and RKO's Nexus. He goes to give the boot to Husky but CM Punk comes out on the ramp and tells him not to. Randy lands the big kick and the rest of Nexus chases him off through the crowd. Husky is out cold. The fans love it.
However, to the disappoint of ECW fans everywhere, this ECW wouldn't be the same. Only certain matches would be contested under ECW rules (no count outs or disqualifications). Many of the original ECW wrestlers like Little Guido, Stevie Richards, and Danny Dorring were only used to build up the "new breed" of ECW wrestlers. Six months after the return of ECW, Paul Heyman left the WWE. By the time a year passed many of the ECW originals were released from their contracts. The changes continued to take place and the WWE branded ECW became more and more different from Extreme Championship Wrestling.
I'm sure he will end up wrestling in another promotion. I can see TNA being an option down the road once he has proved that he's gotten his substance problems under control. But the indy scene and Japan will most definitely book him immediately.
USWO is located wrestling at Interstate Drive at the Stadium Inn. Admission is $10 for ringside seats and $8 for general admission. Children under 5 are admitted for free.
The third round saw Phil start with a high kick before securing the takedown. Phil transitioned to half guard before losing control of the position. Nog attempted to stand up but ended up with Phil on his back. Nog rolled into guard and eventually made his way back to the feet. Phil once again was able to get the fight to the ground where he was able to ride out the 3 round decision.
